The bar is offset from the center of the galaxy and is the site of star formation all along its length. Both of these morphological traits\u2014a dominant spiral arm and the offset bar\u2014are typically characteristics of a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Magellanic_spiral\">Magellanic spiral<\/a> galaxy.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/NGC_925#cite_note-Pisano2000-8\">[8]<\/a><\/sup> The galaxy is inclined at an angle of 55\u00b0 to the line of sight along a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Position_angle\">position angle<\/a> of 102\u00b0.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/NGC_925#cite_note-Martin1994-3\">[3]<\/a><\/sup><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--30);font-size:clamp(14.642px, 0.915rem + ((1vw - 3.2px) * 0.721), 22px);\">The NGC 925 is a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/NGC_1023_Group\">NGC 1023 Group<\/a>, a nearby, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gravitationally_bound\">gravitationally-bound<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Galaxy_groups_and_clusters\">group of galaxies<\/a> associated with <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/NGC_1023\">NGC 1023<\/a>.<sup><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/NGC_925#cite_note-Tully1980-5\">[5]<\/a><\/sup> However, the nearest member lies at least 650,000&nbsp;ly (200,000&nbsp;pc) distant from NGC 925. There is a 10 million <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Solar_mass\">solar mass<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Solar_mass\"><var>M<\/var><sub>\u2609<\/sub><\/a>) cloud of <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Neutral_hydrogen\">neutral hydrogen<\/a> attached to NGC 925 by a streamer.
